Flora of Holbrook Gorse bushes are to be found throughout the area, and yet below the hilltop a very wide range of trees in the various copses and woods are to be found. These are predominately deciduous but their age is indicated by the large number of preservation orders that exist. Booths Wood, just below The Moor is renowned for its annual bluebell show and in contrast a copse at Coxbench is home to one of the only known local firefly colonies. latest weather news BBC Weather Forcast BBC Weather BBC Weather News Travel news and traffic flow BBC Travel News The Radio Derby jamcams link BBC Jamcams enables you to check your travel route by dragging your mouse along the route you are planning to take. Predator birds such as buzzards, sparrowhawks and kestrels have regular sightings as are little, tawny and barn owls. Birds such as crows, rooks, magpies, jackdaws and jays abound, and the odd heron can be seen keeping an eye on local fishponds. An extensive range of garden and woodland birds are common sightings no doubt encouraged by local householders. |
